Acer AcerPower 2000 Video Card
At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Most newer computers will have at least one spot available for a dedicated video card to be installed. There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. A dedicated graphics card is usually necessary for high-end games on the desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are almost never as good as dedicated graphic cards, generally speaking.
Subtle hints your display card will soon need to be replaced
- The graphics on your screen displays weird colors or images
- Your Acer crashes when starting a graphic intensive program
- Nothing seems to turn on when booting up
- A driver for the video card fails to install like it should
