Acer AcerPower S260 Video Card
Dedicated video cards are pretty much required for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a dedicated video card to be installed on the motherboard. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than a dedicated video card, generally speaking. All video cards processes the input and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is in second.
Red flags to watch for in a bad video card
- Your display displays fragmented images
- The computer freezes when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- The screen does not always turn on when starting the computer
- A driver for the video card cannot install fully
