Most USB wireless adapters are plug-n-play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the system will install the drivers automatically. Searching for a new adapter is simple due to the fact that all you need to know beforehand is what OS you are running on your Acer Altos 1100. The WiFi in your server, if so equipped, uses a piece of hardware to communicate with your home network.

- The WiFi adapter in your Acer server cannot see the SSID coming from your router
