Acer Altos R720 Video Card
There are two types of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Most new desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a dedicated video card to be added to the system. Integrated display adapters are almost never as good as a dedicated video card, in general. All video cards processes the input and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. A dedicated graphics card is required for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place.
