Acer Aspire 6800 Ram
RAM is considered temporary storage as the data it holds is deleted every time you turn your desktop off. Random Access Memory, RAM, stores small bits of data that the processor uses for applications. RAM is necessary in order for a computer to even boot. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the processor, it does not hold files like text documents or movies. But, it does have a correlation to the speed of the computer. The clock speed of the RAM is imposed within the specs of the motherboard, while the size is dictated by the operating system. If you need to buy more RAM and are unsure, just be sure to remember that you can never have too much RAM in your system.
Red flags the RAM will eventually need to be replaced
- Nothing happens when trying to initiate your system
- You tend to have errors on your desktop intermittently
- The screen does not light up when you start your desktop
- The OS does not show the correct amount of RAM as it should
