Acer Aspire E360 Video Card
There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. Most new desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a dedicated video card to be installed on the motherboard. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Dedicated video cards are required for high-end games on the desktop like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Both an integrated and dedicated video card computes and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where you can see the results. Integrated display adapters will never be better than dedicated graphic cards, in general.
What are some hints that my video graphics card has to be replaced?
- Your display shows stretched or elongated pictures
- Your Acer reboots when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- The screen does not always come on as you attempt to boot up
