Acer Aspire T120 Video Card
Today, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second. Most new desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a graphics card to be added to the system. There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than a separate video card, in general. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. A dedicated graphics card is pretty much required for high-end games on the desktop like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield.
What are the indications that my desktop video card will soon go out?
- The monitor depicts weird colors or images
- The Acer Aspire T120 restarts when starting a game
- Nothing seems to come on as you attempt to boot up
- A driver for the video card does not seem to install like it should
