Acer Veriton 5600V Video Card
There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Most new desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a video card to be installed. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than a dedicated video card, in general. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Dedicated video cards are usually necessary for high-end games on the desktop like Battlefield, Fortnite or Far Cry. A video card computes and sends the rendered images to a monitor where you can see the results.
How do you know if your graphics card has to be replaced?
- The graphics on your screen shows bits and pieces of the desktop
- Your Acer freezes when starting a graphic intensive program
- Nothing seems to turn on as you attempt to boot up
- The driver has issues installing correctly
