Alienware Area 51 M5550 Wifi
Buying a wireless adapter is quite easy due to the fact that all you need to know beforehand is the current operating system on your Alienware laptop. The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses a piece of hardware in order to connect to your wireless router or modem. Most USB wireless adapters are simply plug and play, which just means that you only need to put the adapter into an available USB port and the system will install the drivers automatically. It is cheaper and easier to purchase a new USB adapter and just plug it in, than it is to replace any type of OEM adapter you might have.
General indicators that your wireless internet adapter has very little life left
- Your WiFi signal disconnects itself during the day
- The laptop wireless driver shows it as not installed
- The wireless adapter in your Alienware laptop is unable to find a signal from your router
