Apple Macintosh Performa 577 Video Card
Most newer computers will have at least one spot available for a video card to be installed on the motherboard. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes the input and renders images to the monitor where you can see the results. There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than a separate video card, in general. A dedicated graphics card is required for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place.
