Apple Power Macintosh 5275 LC Video Card
Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than dedicated graphic cards, in general. There are two types of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. All video cards processes the input and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is in second. Dedicated video cards are necessary for high-end games on the desktop like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Most newer computers will have at least one PCIe slot open for a video card to be installed.
