Asus M11AD Video Card
There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Dedicated video cards are required for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Most newer computers will have at least one spot available for a graphics card to be installed on the motherboard. Integrated display adapters are not as good as a separate video card, generally speaking.
Signals of a poorly performing display adapter
- Your display displays nothing
- The PC crashes when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- Nothing seems to come on when starting the computer
- A driver for the video card has issues installing fully
