Asus M51AD Video Card
There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. Currently, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. A dedicated graphics card is pretty much required for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. Integrated display adapters will never be better than dedicated graphic cards, in general. All video cards computes and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. Most newer computers will have at least one spot available for a graphics card to be installed on the motherboard.
What warnings should I watch out for to know if my display adapter is almost dead?
- The monitor shows stretched or elongated pictures
- The computer restarts when starting a graphic intensive program
- The screen does not always come on when starting the computer
- The video card driver fails to install like it should
