Asus X501 Wifi
You are better off buying a new wireless USB adapter and install it, than to replace any built-in adapter your laptop may have. Buying a wireless adapter is quite easy because all you need to know is the operating system that is installed on your Asus X501. Most USB wireless adapters are simply plug and play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the operating system will take care of the rest. The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses an adapter in order to talk to your home router.
What are some indications that my wireless card has gone bad?
- The WiFi adapter driver gives errors when installing
- Your WiFi in your Asus laptop cannot see the SSID coming from your router
- Your WiFi signal drops for no reason throughout the day
