Compaq 1600-XL141 Wifi
Buying a wireless adapter is quite easy because the only thing you have to know is the operating system that is installed on your laptop. WiFi, or wireless internet, uses an adapter to send and receive signals to and from your home router. It is cheaper and easier to purchase a new wireless USB adapter and install it, than to replace any built-in adapter your laptop may have. A lot of newer wireless adapters are simply plug and play, which just means that you only need to put the adapter into an available USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own.
What are the indications that my wireless internet adapter needs to be replaced?
- The WiFi adapter driver shows it as not installed
- The WiFi adapter on your laptop will not connect to your router anymore
- Your WiFi signal disconnects itself all the time
