Compaq 505B Ram
Random Access Memory is considered volatile memory as all the data it holds gets erased every time you turn your desktop off. Random Access Memory, RAM, stores pieces of information that the CPU is currently using for executing commands. RAM is necessary even for your desktop to run correctly. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the processor, it does not hold files like documents or pictures. Instead, it does have a correlation to the speed of the computer. The RAM speed is governed by the specs of the motherboard, while the actual storage size is governed by the software. If there is ever a doubt, just know that more RAM is a lot better than less RAM!
Symptoms of a bad RAM stick
- The system fails to come up with the correct memory size
- The desktop screen does not display anything when booting up
- Silence as you try to power on your system
- You may get quite a few random reboots on your desktop intermittently
