Compaq 511 Ram
RAM stores pieces of data that the CPU is currently using for applications. Having the RAM installed is mandatory even for your laptop to run. The speed of the RAM is prescribed within the specifications from the motherboard, and the minimum storage size is governed by the system software. Random Access Memory is considered volatile memory as all the data it holds gets erased every time your turn the computer off. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the processor, it does not have the ability to store files such as text documents or movies. Instead, it has more to do with the speed of your laptop. If you are ever in doubt, remember that you can never have too much RAM.
What to see if the stick of RAM is about to go out?
- You may get quite a few access errors on your laptop intermittently
- Emptiness fills the air as you start your system
- The laptop screen will not turn on when you start your laptop
- The system does not display the correct amount of memory installed
