Compaq AlphaServer ES40 Video Card
There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. All video cards processes graphics and sends the rendered images to a monitor where you can see the results. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as a dedicated video card, in general. Dedicated video cards are required for high-end games on the desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. Most new desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a graphics card to be added to the system. At the moment, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place.
Indications the video card is on its last leg
- The graphics on your screen produces fragmented images
- The Compaq AlphaServer ES40 crashes when starting a graphic intensive program
- The screen does not always show up as you attempt to boot up
- The driver has issues installing like it should
