Compaq AlphaServer GS80 Power Supply
Purchasing a new Compaq AlphaServer GS80 PSU is a piece of cake, provided you are still in posession of the old power supply for comparison. The PSU, or power supply, supplies all the power for the hard drive, motherboard and any other peripherals in the PC. It is usually pretty easy to install a new PSU in the AlphaServer GS80 desktop. Be sure to replace a power supply with the same wattage or larger. You do not always want to go with the cheapest PSU as it is the final barrier between high amounts of electricity and your delicate computer hardware.
Symptoms of an ineffective primary power supply
- Your Compaq turns off while under a certain amount of stress
- The Compaq will not power on
- You smell burning plastic inside the PSU of your Compaq
