The Compaq H3900 AC adapter provides two functions, charging the battery and powering the tablet. Because Compaq has been known to use a single AC adapter that is probably used on other similar units, be certain you select the correct one for the H3900 model. If buying off-brand, make note of both the voltage and amperage output. When purchasing a replacement AC adapter, choosing the Compaq brand one is the best one to choose. A universal AC adapter can be used but only if necessary.
