Dell Alienware Area-51 Wifi
The WiFi in your desktop, if so equipped, uses a piece of hardware in order to connect to your home router. Buying a wireless adapter is quite easy because the only thing you have to know is the operating system that is installed on your Dell desktop. You are better off buying a common WiFi USB adapter and install it, than it is to replace any type of OEM adapter you might have. A lot of newer wireless adapters are plug-n-play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the OS will handle everything from there.
Symptoms of a worsening onboard WiFi
- Your wireless internet connection goes in and out over and over again
- The wireless adapter in your Dell desktop is unable to find a signal from your router
- The WiFi adapter driver gives errors when installing
