Dell Dimension 4100 Wifi
WiFi, or wireless internet, uses a piece of hardware to communicate with your router. Buying a wireless adapter is quite easy due to the fact that all you need to know beforehand is what OS you are running on your laptop. A lot of newer wireless adapters are plug-n-play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the operating system will take care of the rest. It is much simpler to buy a common WiFi USB adapter and just plug it in, than to replace any built-in adapter your laptop may have.
How do you know if your wireless card is in need of replacing?
- The wireless signal disconnects and reconnects over and over again
- The WiFi adapter driver gives errors when installing
- Your WiFi on your laptop is unable to find a signal from your router
