Dell Dimension XPS GEN 3 Ram
RAM is necessary for your desktop to boot up. Random Access Memory, RAM, stores pieces of information that the central processing unit uses for applications. Random Access Memory is considered temporary storage as the data it holds is blanked out when you shut down your system. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the processor, it does not hold files like text documents or movies. Instead, it has more to do with the speed of the computer. The clock speed of the RAM is predetermined through the specs of the motherboard, and the minimum storage size is guided by the system software. If there is ever a doubt, remember that bigger is always better!
Some clues the RAM will not live much longer
- You tend to have random reboots on your desktop throughout the day
- Silence when attempting to boot up your desktop
- The desktop screen will not display correctly when starting up
- The main operating system fails to come up with the right amount of memory installed
