Dell Inspiron 14 5442 Wifi
It will be easier to buy a common WiFi USB adapter and just plug it in, than to replace any built-in adapter your laptop may have. Buying a wireless adapter is quite easy because the only thing you have to know is what OS you are running on your Dell laptop. The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses a piece of hardware in order to talk to your wireless router or modem. A lot of newer wireless adapters are simply plug and play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own.
Warnings of a poorly performing wireless card
- The wireless adapter driver cannot be installed
- The wireless signal drops multiple times over and over again
- The WiFi adapter on your laptop will not connect to your router anymore
