Dell Latitude 5420 Wifi
Buying a wireless adapter is quite easy because the only thing you have to know is the current operating system on your Dell laptop. It is cheaper and easier to purchase a new wireless USB adapter and just plug it in, than it is to replace any type of OEM adapter you might have. The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses an adapter in order to connect to your home network. Most USB wireless adapters are plug-n-play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own.
Main clues the wireless card will eventually need to be replaced
- The WiFi adapter driver shows it as not installed
- The WiFi adapter in your Dell laptop does not connect at all
- The WiFi drops multiple times during the day
