Dell PowerEdge 1500SC Ram
The RAM speed is governed by the specifications from the motherboard, while the actual storage size is determined by the OS. Random Access Memory, RAM, stores pieces of data for the CPU to use for executing commands. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the processor, it does not hold files like documents or pictures. But, it does have a correlation to the speed of your server. RAM is considered temporary storage as its storage is erased when the system shuts down. Your server will do nothing at all without the necessary RAM properly installed. If you are unsure about the size of the RAM to buy, remember that bigger is always better!
Some clues of a faulty RAM memory
- Nothing happens when you initiate your server
- The server screen will not light up when you turn your system on
- The OS produces access errors on your server throughout the day
- The system does not display the correct memory amount
