Dell PowerEdge 1955 Ram
Some RAM is mandatory in order for a computer to even boot. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the CPU, it does not hold files like documents or pictures. Instead, it has a positive impact on the speed of the computer. RAM is considered volatile memory as all the information held gets blanked out every time your turn the computer off. The clock speed of the RAM is predetermined through the specifications from the motherboard, while the size is determined by the system software. Random Access Memory, RAM, stores random bits of information that the CPU is currently using for programs. If you need to buy more RAM and are unsure, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!
What are some indications that my RAM stick is on its last leg?
- The OS cannot report the correct memory size
- Nothing happens as you power on your system
- The OS produces random reboots on your server intermittently
- The screen will not light up when booting up
