Dell PowerEdge 2550 Power Supply
Purchasing a new Dell PowerEdge 2550 PSU is a piece of cake, provided you are still in posession of the old power supply for making size comparisons. The power supply in your Dell desktop is responsible for powering the hard drive, motherboard and any other peripherals in the PC. It is always a good idea to replace a PSU with at least the same watts, if not bigger. It is not too difficult to install a power supply in the PowerEdge 2550 desktop. Never go too cheap on a PSU as it is the only thing between high amounts of electricity and your delicate computer hardware.
Major indications your primary power supply will need to be replaced
- You notice smoke in your power supply
- Computer will not power on
- Your Dell turns off while under a heavy load
