Dell PowerEdge 800 Ram
Some RAM is mandatory for the Dell PowerEdge 800 to boot up. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the CPU, it does not have the ability to store files such as picture or movies. But, it will affect the speed of your server. Your server RAM stores pieces of information that the CPU is currently using for programs. The clock speed of the RAM is dictated by the specifications from the motherboard, while the actual storage size is governed by the OS. Random Access Memory is considered temporary storage as all the information held gets deleted every time your turn the computer off. If you need to buy more RAM and are unsure, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!
How can I tell if my stick of RAM is dying?
- The server screen does not display anything when you turn your system on
- The system produces invalid access errors on your server intermittently
- Nothing happens when attempting to initiate your server
- The OS does not show the right memory size
