Dell PowerEdge 860 Ram
Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the processor, it does not have the ability to store files such as text documents or movies. Instead, it has more to do with the speed of your server. The RAM in your computer stores random bits of information that the processor uses for applications. Having the RAM installed is mandatory for your server to boot up. The speed of the RAM is predetermined through the specs of the motherboard, while the size is dictated by the operating system. Random Access Memory is considered volatile memory as all the information held gets blanked out when you shut down your system. If you are unsure about the size of the RAM to buy, just know that more RAM is a lot better than less RAM!
What to see if the RAM memory is crapping out?
- You get a lot of weird errors showing up on your server as you use it
- Silence as you power on your server
- The server screen will not light up when starting up
- The OS does not report the right amount of RAM
