Dell PowerEdge C6100 Ram
Your server RAM stores pieces of information that the central processing unit uses for programs. The RAM speed is prescribed within the specs of the motherboard, and the minimum storage size is governed by the operating system. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the CPU, it does not hold files like documents or pictures. Instead, it will affect the speed of the computer. RAM is actually temporary storage as the data it holds is deleted when you shut down your system. RAM is necessary for your server to run at all. If you are unsure about the size of the RAM to buy, remember that bigger is always better!
How do you know if your stick of RAM has gone bad?
- Silence as you boot up your server
- The OS does not report the correct memory amount
- You get a lot of random reboots on your server throughout the day
- The main screen does not turn on when starting up
