Dell PowerEdge M805 Video Card
Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as a dedicated video card, generally speaking. There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. Dedicated video cards are pretty much required for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one spot available for a video card to be added to the system. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second.
Important clues of a laboring desktop video card
- Your display depicts colors that are all wrong
- The PC reboots when beginning a game
- Nothing seems to turn on when starting up
- The video card driver has problems installing properly
