Dell PowerEdge R310 Video Card

There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is in second. Most newer computers will have at least one PCIe slot open for a graphics card to be added to the system. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as a separate video card, in general. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. Dedicated video cards are typically a required piece of hardware for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry.
