Dell PowerEdge R900 Wifi
WiFi, or wireless internet, uses a piece of hardware to communicate with your router. A lot of newer wireless adapters are simply plug and play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the system will install the drivers automatically. Buying a USB wireless adapter is quick and painless because the only thing you have to know is what OS you are running on your Dell server. It will be easier to buy a common WiFi USB adapter and install it, than to replace any built-in adapter your server may have.
Important hints the WiFi adapter will soon need to be replaced
- The wireless adapter driver shows it as not installed
- Your WiFi on your server cannot see the SSID coming from your router
- The wireless signal disconnects itself during the day
