Dell PowerEdge T110 Video Card
There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. A dedicated graphics card is pretty much required for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Most newer computers should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a graphics card to be added to the system. Integrated video cards are almost never as good as a separate video card, in general. A video card computes and renders images to the monitor where you can see the results.
Subtle hints your display card is going out
- The graphics on your screen depicts bits and pieces of the desktop
- The desktop reboots when starting a graphic intensive program
- Nothing seems to show up as you boot the PC
- The video card driver fails to install properly
