Dell Precision T5400 Video Card

There are two types of video cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. A dedicated graphics card is usually necessary for high-end games on the desktop like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Integrated video cards are not as good as a separate video card, generally speaking. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a graphics card to be added to the system.
