Dell Precision T7400 Video Card
There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. A graphics card computes and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. Integrated video cards will never be better than a dedicated video card, in general. Most newer computers should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a graphics card to be installed on the motherboard. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. A dedicated graphics card is typically a required piece of hardware for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry.
Major signs the video card needs replacing
- The graphics on your screen shows colors that are all wrong
- The desktop restarts when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- Nothing seems to turn on when booting up
- A driver for the video card fails to install properly
