Dell Precision Workstation 370 Video Card
There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. All video cards computes and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. Today, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are almost never as good as a separate video card, generally speaking. Most newer computers should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a video card to be installed on the motherboard. A dedicated graphics card is required for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield.
Important signs the video card should be replaced
- Your display displays stretched or elongated pictures
- The Dell Precision Workstation 370 freezes when beginning a game
- Nothing seems to turn on as you attempt to boot up
- The driver does not seem to install fully
