Dell Studio 1749 Wifi
You are better off buying a new USB adapter and install it, than it is to replace any type of OEM adapter you might have. Buying a wireless adapter is quite easy because the only thing you have to know is what OS you are running on your Dell laptop. The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses a piece of hardware in order to connect to your router and modem. Most USB wireless adapters are plug-n-play, which just means that you only need to put the adapter into an available USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own.
Major indications the wireless card will not live much longer
- Your WiFi signal goes out randomly throughout the day
- Your WiFi on your laptop cannot see the SSID coming from your router
- The wireless adapter driver cannot be installed
