Dell Studio XPS 9000 Ram
The RAM in your computer stores pieces of data that the central processing unit uses for executing commands. The RAM speed is prescribed within the specifications from the motherboard, while the actual storage size is dictated by the software. RAM is necessary in order for your desktop to even boot. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the processor, it does not hold files like picture or movies. But, it will impact the speed of your desktop. Random Access Memory is considered temporary storage as all the data it holds gets removed every time you turn your desktop off. If you are ever in doubt, just know that it is impossible to have too much RAM!
Major indications your RAM memory is in need of replacing
- Silence when trying to start your desktop
- The desktop screen does not display correctly when you turn your system on
- The main operating system does not show the right amount of RAM as it should
- You get a lot of random reboots on your desktop throughout the day
