Dell Vostro 3550 Wifi
Finding a WiFi adapter is easy because the only thing you have to know is the current operating system on your Dell laptop. WiFi, or wireless internet, uses an adapter to send and receive signals to and from your home router. A lot of newer wireless adapters are simply plug and play, which means you simply plug it into a USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own. It is cheaper and easier to purchase a new USB adapter and install it, than to replace any built-in adapter your laptop may have.
What warnings should I watch out for to know if my WiFi adapter is in need of replacing?
- Your WiFi on your laptop does not connect at all
- The WiFi adapter driver suddenly shows as uninstalled
- Your WiFi signal disconnects and reconnects all the time
