Dell Vostro 400 Video Card
There are really only two kinds of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated is built into the motherboard, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes the input and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you. Dedicated video cards are typically a required piece of hardware for high-end games on the desktop like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Most newer computers will have at least one PCIe slot open for a video card to be installed on the motherboard. Integrated, or onboard, graphics will never be better than a dedicated video card, in general.
