Dell XPS 625 Video Card
Almost all newer desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a video card to be installed on the motherboard. There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated graphics are integrated into the motherboard itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. All video cards processes graphics and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where you can see the results. At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated video card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Dedicated video cards are typically a required piece of hardware for high-end games on the desktop like Battlefield, Fortnite or Far Cry. Integrated video cards are not as good as dedicated graphic cards, generally speaking.
What symptoms are present when the graphics card is in need of a replacement?
- The monitor displays stretched or elongated pictures
- The Dell XPS 625 restarts when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- Nothing seems to show up when starting up
- The driver fails to install correctly
