Dell XPS 700 Video Card

There are two types of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Most new desktops will have at least one PCIe slot open for a dedicated video card to be installed on the motherboard. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. Dedicated video cards are typically a required piece of hardware for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as a separate video card, in general. Currently, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second.
