Dell XPS GEN 3 Video Card
Dedicated video cards are pretty much required for any high-end games you play on a desktop like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as a dedicated video card, generally speaking. There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Today, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. A graphics card processes the input and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where you can see the results. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one spot available for a graphics card to be added to the system.
Some clues the display adapter will eventually need to be replaced
- Your display produces nothing
- The computer restarts when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- Nothing seems to turn on when booting up
- The video card driver has issues installing like it should
