Gateway 7400 Hard Drive
Hard drives are designed in varying capacities and brands. Replacing the drive can be quite easy if you know the steps to take, of course! Your Gateway 7400 has a hdd, or hard disk drive, which houses an incredible amount of information for the computer. Hard drives can be touchy and they have a unique ability to go out on you at any time for any number of reasons! The hard drive type to purchase all depends on your Gateway server. The size of the hard drive is quite simply a personal preference as just about any computer will be able to accommodate any size hard drive you install.
What signals that my HDD is almost dead?
- Your Gateway server shuts down when you use certain programs
- The operating system may take forever to begin loading and may not ever fully boot
- On some old hard drives you can hear a tick, tick, tick sound resonating from the computer
- The computer shuts down randomly even while using it
- Your system stops or is slow to respond off and on through the day
