Gateway 8000 Ram
Random Access Memory, RAM, stores pieces of information that the computer uses for applications. Due to the fact that RAM is temporary storage for the CPU, it does not hold files like text documents or movies. Instead, it has more to do with the overall speed and quickness of your Gateway. RAM is considered temporary storage as the data it holds is deleted every time your turn the computer off. The clock speed of the RAM is governed by the specifications from the motherboard, while the size is guided by the system software. Having the RAM installed is mandatory in order for the Gateway 8000 to even boot. If there is ever a doubt, remember that bigger is always better!
Clues to watch for to know that your RAM board will soon need to be replaced
- The main screen does not display anything when starting up
- Silence as you power on your laptop
- The system does not display the right amount of RAM as it should
- You tend to have random errors on your laptop as you use it
