Gateway 955 Hard Drive
Putting in a new hard drive can be quite easy if you know what you are doing, of course! Your Gateway 955 has a hdd, or hard disk drive, that contains the data in order for the computer to run. Due to the delicate nature of a hard drive, they can fail whenever they want for any reason! Hard disk drives are available in varying storage capacities and brands. The hard drive type to buy really depends on the Gateway server. The storage capacity of the hard drive is simply a personal preference as just about any computer will be able to accommodate any size hard drive you install.
Important signs that your server hard drive needs replacing
- The Gateway server may crash suddenly randomly throughout the day
- The server shuts down when you use a particular file
- It may take forever to load and may only boot up once in a while
- Your system stutters or does weird stuff off and on through the day
- With older hard drives you may hear a tick, tick, tick sound resonating from the computer
