Gateway 980 Ram
The clock speed of the RAM is dictated by the specifications from the motherboard, while the actual storage size is guided by the OS. Because RAM is only temporary storage for the processor, it does not have the ability to store files such as documents or pictures. But, it will impact the speed of the computer. Random Access Memory is considered temporary storage as the data it holds is removed every time you turn your server off. The Gateway 980 will do nothing at all without having RAM. RAM stores random bits of data that the CPU is currently using for executing commands. If there is ever a doubt, just know that more RAM is a lot better than less RAM!
Clues to watch for to know your server RAM is dead
- The OS does not display the correct amount of RAM as it should
- The main screen will not light up when booting up
- You tend to have random reboots on your server as you use it
- Nothing happens as you try to power on your system
