Gateway E-4400 Video Card
A graphics card processes the input and renders images to the monitor where it is displayed for you. Integrated display adapters are almost never as good as a separate video card, generally speaking. There are two types of graphic cards, integrated and dedicated. An integrated graphic card is built-in to the main board, while a dedicated graphics card is an individual piece of hardware that is bought and installed separately. A dedicated graphics card is typically a required piece of hardware for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Mass Effect, Grand Theft Auto or Battlefield. At the moment, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is sitting in second place. Most new desktops should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a dedicated video card to be added to the system.
Simple warnings that your graphics card is about to stop working?
- The monitor produces nothing
- The desktop restarts when trying to start up a graphic intensive game
- The display does not turn on when starting the computer
